Hey everyone hows it going? It's been over three months since the last update, and a number of things have gone on since then, most notably exams etc etc.

As I mentioned last time, I was due to spend a week in Salisbury for a hospital attachment. It was a really interesting trip, got to see all sorts of stuff in the hospital, ranging from diabetic clinics, to cleft palate management and air ambulance resucitation! Had a good group of friends with me, shared a house while we were down there, so that was pretty cool. The town itself was quite nice too, although didn't really get to see all that much of it because the hospital was quite a bit outside of it. Being in the area we went to see stonehenge too, which was a nice little outing :) The only thing that I didn't like was the mobile signal...it was madness! The signal out there was so weak that half the time I had to go out of the house and down the road a bit to get any reception! Spent the time with the rabbits that were all over the place, bouncing around the house lol!

Exams have come and gone, now I'm back on clinics again :s It was a bit crazy really, first exam on a thursday, next on the following monday, third on the wednesday and results out two days later on the friday! Alhamdulillah I passed, so thats 3 years down, 2 more to go :D Also a massive shout goes out to Sana :D not only did she pass her 2nd year exams with a distinction, but got a prize too :D I'm sooo proud of yooouuu!!! :D :D :D Also, I don't think I would've passed my exams without all of her support. Sana believed in me when I no longer believed in myself.

Wedding preparations are pretty much done now, only 6 weeks to go...should be good fun :)

Anyway, take it easy, keep it chilled...

Hello hello hello, hows it going? It's been a long time since the last update, and a couple of things have happened since then. Had my mid sessional exams a few weeks ago, covering dental materials and human disease. Alhamdulillah, I passed both parts with a 'good' so I'm happy :) Also on the theme of exams, congrats to all of my mates that passed their respective exams, and a special shout to Sana who absolutely smacked her exams, nice one!!! :D

I now know that I'm off to Salisbury for a week at the end of May for my peripheral hospital attachment, as part of my human disease course. Fingers crossed it should be good fun!

Now for the big news...my older sister Attia is getting married in August! :D Its gonna be busy in the lead up, but it should be fun all the same :)

Anyway, take it easy, keep it chilled...

Hey everyone, hows it going? Happy new year to you all! I hope 2009 is a great year for us all!

Christmas has come and gone, and the hols were ok I guess, but being ill for the first week and a bit of a two week holiday sucks just a bit :s I'm not cut out for sitting around doing nothing all day! That was pretty much all I did in the hols, sit around doing nothing, or going to the sales. It was nice that I found some new skate shoes in the sales though :) I'm a big fan of the brand Quiksilver, and I managed to get a pair of black suede skate shoes for £12 reduced from £68!!!

I recieved some bad news yesterday that shook me quite a bit...one of the guy's I went to school with for 11 years passed away in a train accident in the early hours of new years day. R.I.P. Martyn Osmond, you'll be missed.

I've been back at uni for a week now, everythings back to normal I guess, pretty much the same old routine. On monday noone told me that my patient had cancelled their appointment, on tuesday found out that the lab had screwed up my patient's denture work again, so it wasn't the greatest start to the week! Wednesday was good though, back to playing badminton with my mate Raj after lectures, so that was good fun, and having thursday off this week was nice too :)

Anyway, I'm off to uni shortly

Take care, keep it chilled...

Hey y'all hows it going?

It's been over a month since the last update, and to be honest not a lot has actually happened since then. Uni has been going pretty good, other that a lot of my patients not turning up, or cancelling at the last minute. It's a bit of a pain, because neither the reception staff or the student liaison officer actually let me know about the cancellations, so I couldn't get another patient in either. It has pros and cons though, upside being basically a free morning or afternoon, downside being that I'm not getting a huge amount of practice at injections and fillings. C'est la vie, it happens, I'm just hoping it improves when I'm back on clinics in january.

I set up a playlist on last.fm finally, so if you want to get a feel for my taste in music, you can by clicking HERE

Anywho, enjoy your holidays!

Heya, hows it going? Things are pretty much the same here, not much exciting stuff going on at the moment, life is just plodding along...patients, tutorials, lectures and badminton is about it!

I finished a four week introductory course to oral surgery last week, which was good fun :) I really enjoyed it, finally started doing extractions on patients and stuff. The first extraction I had to do was quite a tricky one, because the tooth itself was very stable, but heavily broken down, also the roots had quite a notable curve to them. The demonstrator wasn't sure if it was suitable for a 3rd year student with no experience, but I gave it a shot anyway, and it came out all in one piece :) The crown didn't fracture, the roots didn't fracture, so that was good :) The atmosphere was great too, and 7 out of the 9 of us there would always wait up for each other, have lunch together and just chill out together, so a big shout goes out to the rest of the 7: Supriya, Priya, Arvinder, Kate, Ravi and Haeyoun!!!

I might try and get some of my mates to post on here as well, bring a bit of a new flavour to the site, so we'll see what happens ;)

Hey everyone, hows it going? It's been one of 'those' weeks this week. On monday 3 patients out of 3 didn't turn up for their appointments, so my partner and I wasted the whole day doing absolutely nothing! Monday was also my friend Katie's birthday, so a big shout goes out to her :)

Wednesday was an interesting day to say the least. With Katie's birthday on monday, and mine coming up this weekend, the boys had arranged to take us out for lunch. They wanted to surprise us, and a surprise it was! They'd booked a table at a posh restaurant in the British Museum, which was nice. The food was pretty good, and all in all I did enjoy the afternoon.

Thursday was good fun too, because I got to do my first tooth extraction. It was a tricky one, coz the tooth was quite broken down and the roots were curved as well. The demonstrators weren't sure if it was suitable for a 3rd year with little experience like me to do, but I managed to get the whole thing out in one piece which was good.

Hey everyone, hows it going? It's been over two months since my last update, and I've finally got the time to sit down and do a proper update of whats been going on.

As mentioned in my last post, I was really looking forward to the British International Motor Show 2008, and I had a pretty good time there :) Ended up going with Zaman and my good mate Raj, and the show was pretty good. The new Nissan GTR was the obvious highlight of the show for me, but there were some pretty cool concepts from other companies, my favourite being the Suzuki Kizashi. You can check out some of my photos here.

A few days after the show I was off to Pakistan for the summer hols, which was nice. It's always good to see all the family, cousins, uncles, aunts, etc. especially as we only get to see them every other year or so. Karachi was good fun, as ever had a laugh with my cousins, especially Azmat. We also got so much electronic equipment put into his car that the poor battery couldn't cope and we had several days where we had to push start the car lol! I don't think that a little Suzuki Alto battery is designed to power xenon headlights, neon underlighting, a Pioneer stereo, a Megavox amplifier and a 12" Kenwood subwoofer as well as all the usual bits and pieces! Lahore was pretty cool too, we were there on 14th August, Pakistan's independance day, so there were mass celebrations everywhere! Sialkot was ok, but the lack of generators or UPS systems (apart from in one place) made the heat unbearable at times. The load shedding meant that we'd have electricity for an average of one hour in four, and with the temperature in the 40s, AC is pretty much a requirement. A couple of my photos from Karachi are here.

After getting back from Pakistan, I had a week of chilling at home before I was back to university. Ramadan started on my first day back as well, so the first month back has just flown by. I'm on clinics much more this year, which can only be a good thing seeing as I'm quite a practical person. Eid was busy as well, for the second year running I've had to go into uni on eid, which sucks, but I was home by lunch time, so it could've been worse! Went out bowling in the afternoon with my sisters, mum and bro-in-law, so we all had a good laugh. Went out to this Turkish restaurant for dinner, really nice place called "Izgara" in Edgeware, the food was excellent as was the service.

Anywho, my 3rd year at uni seems like being pretty chilled out, so I should keep up to date.

Take it easy, keep it chilled...
